UNITWIST is a South African brand owned and operated by Plaspro (Pty) Ltd, a manufacturer and distributor of push-fit and compression plumbing systems. Our products are distributed through registered stockists across South Africa.

3. Use of This Website

You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not:

  • Infringe the rights of any third party
  • Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its related systems

UNITWIST products are backed by our 25-year system guarantee when installed in accordance with UNITWIST installation guidelines and specifications. Warranty terms are subject to the conditions set out on our Warranty Information page. Warranties do not cover misuse, incorrect installation, or damage caused by external factors.

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, product designs, and graphics — is the property of Plaspro (Pty) Ltd and is protected by applicable South African and international intellectual property laws, including but not limited to the Trade Marks Act 194 of 1993, the Copyright Act 98 of 1978, and the Designs Act 195 of 1993. Our total liability in any circumstances shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant product or service.

9. Plumber & Retail Portal Accounts

If you register for a plumber or retail partner account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including but not limited to the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference. By using this website or entering any competition, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

13. Competitions and User-Generated Content

13.1 Scope

This section applies to all competitions, giveaways, and promotional activities run by UNITWIST, whether hosted on the UNITWIST website, our official social media channels (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn), or any other platform or channel. By entering any competition, you agree to be bound by this section in full.

13.2 Licence Grant

By entering any UNITWIST competition or promotional activity — including by submitting photographs, videos, installation images, written descriptions, testimonials, opinions, or any other content (collectively, "Submission") — you grant UNITWIST and Plaspro (Pty) Ltd a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, crop, translate, publish, display, distribute, and share your Submission, in whole or in part, for any purpose whatsoever.

This includes, without limitation:

  • Use on the UNITWIST website, social media channels, marketing materials, email communications, advertising, and in-store or trade displays;
  • Use in any legal, regulatory, arbitration, or dispute resolution proceedings, including proceedings before a court, arbitrator, regulatory authority, or intellectual property body, whether in South Africa or elsewhere;
  • Use to evidence brand reputation, consumer perception, product distinctiveness, or goodwill in connection with the protection of UNITWIST's intellectual property rights or any claim of passing off or unlawful competition; and
  • Disclosure to UNITWIST's legal advisers, expert witnesses, and any court or regulatory body to which UNITWIST is required or permitted to disclose such material.

13.3 No Compensation or Attribution

UNITWIST is not obligated to use your Submission. No compensation, royalty, credit, or attribution will be due to you for any use of your Submission, unless UNITWIST elects otherwise at its sole discretion. This licence applies regardless of whether you win the competition.

13.4 Authenticity of Submissions

By submitting an entry, you confirm that:

  • Your Submission represents your own genuine, honest, and independent opinion or experience of UNITWIST products;
  • You have not been directed, scripted, or incentivised to make any specific claim or statement beyond the standard competition prize; and
  • Your Submission is not false, misleading, or defamatory.

UNITWIST reserves the right to disqualify any Submission it reasonably believes is not genuine, and to decline to rely on any Submission in legal proceedings where its authenticity is in doubt.

13.5 Your Warranties

By entering, you confirm that:

  • You are the original creator of the Submission and own all intellectual property rights in it, or you have obtained all necessary permissions from any third party whose work or image appears in the Submission;
  • The Submission does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party;
  • You have obtained the consent of any identifiable person appearing in the Submission; and
  • The Submission does not contain any content that is unlawful, offensive, obscene, or defamatory.

You indemnify UNITWIST and Plaspro (Pty) Ltd against any loss, claim, or damage arising from a breach of these warranties.

13.6 Moral Rights

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you waive any moral rights you may have in your Submission in favour of UNITWIST and Plaspro (Pty) Ltd. This includes the right to object to any editing, adaptation, or use of your Submission that UNITWIST considers necessary for any lawful purpose, including legal proceedings.

13.7 Follow-Up Contact and Legal Participation

By entering, you consent to UNITWIST contacting you after the competition in connection with your Submission. This may include a request for a formal written statement, affidavit, or witness declaration in connection with legal, regulatory, or intellectual property proceedings. There is no obligation on you to provide any further statement or to participate as a witness, and declining will not affect any prize you have won or any other right you hold.

13.8 Individual Competition Rules

Specific competitions may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which will be published at the time the competition is announced. In the event of a conflict between those specific terms and this section, the specific competition terms will prevail.

13.9 Social Media Platform Compliance

Competitions run on third-party social media platforms are in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by those platforms. Any questions, complaints, or claims regarding a competition must be directed to UNITWIST, not to the platform. By entering, you release each applicable platform from all liability in connection with the competition.
